UN Media Advisory
17 to 29 September 2020
This General Assembly, the United Nations will mark its 75th anniversary as well as take stock of progress and challenges since the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement for Climate Change in 2015 and the Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action in 1995.
The virtual SDG Media Zone will focus on the power of science, solutions and solidarity—through the vision of global leaders and experts at the forefront of global crises and efforts to build back better from the devastating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Media Zone will feature three segments—local voices with SDG Media Compact members, special UNGA programming with The Stream/ Al Jazeera English and curtain-raiser interviews—addressing some of the most defining issues of today, including health care and medical interventions, misinformation about science and real solutions, gender equality, climate change and the protection the world’s diminishing biodiversity.
Check out the SDG Media Zone schedule and stay tuned for conversations that matter. The initiative, a prominent platform for a diversity of voices on a wide range of issues since 2016, is organized by the UN Department of Global Communications, in collaboration with the PVBLIC Foundation.
