Award-winning documentary “Sins of My Father” tells the story of Pablo Escobar, the most notorious drug trafficker of the modern era, from a new perspective: the voice of his only son. For the first time, Sebastian Marroquin (formerly Juan Pablo Escobar) and his mother invite the world deep into the life of Escobar through photographs, recordings and intimate memories from the times of extraordinary luxury and extravagance to their fall and exile. The film is also the story of two of Escobar’s most prominent victims, Rodrigo Lara Bonilla, the Minister of Justice, and presidential candidate, Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento, as told by their sons.
Filmmaker Nicolas Entel captures the powerful and historic moment when the son of Pablo Escobar and the sons of his victims, anti-drug trade crusaders Luis Carlos Galan and Rodrigo Lara Bonilla, come together to heal wounds that have haunted them for a decade. Born into a world of violence, Marroquin’s only option is to search for peace and reconciliation.
